While it’s easy to transfer money to with Travelex and Western Union, we understand that sometimes you just need to speak to someone to get answers; and we are always here to help. You can send up to $2,500 NZD daily with Western Union at one of our selected Travelex stores.

The following photo IDs are acceptable: You are also required to provide address verification document such as Bank Statement or Utility Bill issued within last 3 months.

  • NZ Firearms License + Proof of Address
  • 18+ Card + Proof of Address + Secondary ID
  • NZ Drivers License + Proof of Address + Secondary ID

For 18+ card and NZ drivers license, the secondary ID can be one of the following:
  • NZ Birth Certificate
  • NZ Citizenship Certificate
  • Super Gold Card
  • Health Entitlement Card
To receive money using Western Union® Money TransferSM, visit a participating store. Indicate the country the money was sent from, the name of the sender, the MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number) and the amount you are expecting.
Give your Travelex Sales Consultant a valid government photo identification (Passport, New Zealand Drivers Licence, New Zealand Firearms Licence or HANZ 18+ Card) and address verification document such as Bank Statement or Utility Bill issued within last 3 months.
If you present New Zealand Drivers Licence or HANZ 18+ Card as photo identification document, you will also be required to present a supporting ID such as New Zealand Birth/Citizenship Certificate. Travelex Sales Consultant can provide full list of acceptable documents at the time of transaction.
Your Travelex Sales Consultant will give you your money and a receipt.

If you are sending a cash collection transfer from one of our selected Travelex stores:

  • A cash pickup, available within minutes1 from a Western Union agent at over 550,000 agents in over 200+ countries and territories.​
  • Directly to a bank account, available within 1hr – 2 business days1 across 80+ countries5. The fee is paid by the sender6 , unlike bank transfers there are no costly surprises7.​
  • Mobile wallet, available within 1hr – 2 business days1 by using the receivers mobile number8 .

How do I collect a Western Union transfer from a Travelex store?

To receive money using Western Union® Money TransferSM, visit a participating store. Indicate the country the money was sent from, the name of the sender, the MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number) and the amount you are expecting.
