How does online foreign currency exchange work in NZ?

You choose your currency and how many New Zealand dollars you'd like to exchange, then pay online by credit card or debit card. Your rate locks in as soon as you order, so a later dip won't cost you. When you're ready, you can collect your local currency, like AUD for a trip across the Tasman, from a Travelex store or pickup location.

Are online rates different from in-store rates?

Yes. Our online foreign exchange rates are generally better than in-store rates, which can vary. That usually makes ordering online the cheaper option, and you can still collect your travel money in store.

How do I know when to buy?

The easiest way is to set a target rate with our free Travel Rate Tracker. We'll send you rate alerts by email once it's reached. You can also use our currency converter to convert currency at today's rates and compare them with the mid-market rate.
