The official currency of Fiji is the Fijian dollar and is abbreviated as FJD. This has been the official currency of Fiji since 1969, but was also the official currency between 1867 and 1873. In the 96 years between 1873 and 1969, the official currency was Fijian pounds.
The Fijian dollar is divided into 100 cents; with the most commonly-used bills being 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 notes.
To differentiate the Fijian dollar from other dollar currencies, Fijian currency symbol is normally abbreviated to FJ$.
