Travelex Prepaid Card Reload Terms and Conditions


Who we are

The Travelex online ordering facility (the "Service") is provided by Travelex Financial Services NZ Limited, referred to as "Travelex" or “we” or "us" or "our". Our Registered Office is at: Level 14, Brookfield House, 19 Victoria Street, Auckland, registered in New Zealand.  You can also contact us on TravelMoneyOnline@travelex.co.nz.

What these terms apply to

These terms and conditions apply to the Service when it is used as an online ordering facility for the reload of Travelex Money Cards or Multi-currency Cash PassportTM Cards that were originally purchased from Travelex ("Travelex Prepaid Card(s)").

If you are using the Service to purchase foreign currency online, refer to the Online Foreign Currency Product Disclosure Statement and the Online Ordering Terms and Conditions for the applicable terms and conditions. If you are using the Service to purchase a Travelex Prepaid Card, refer to either the Travelex Money Card Product Disclosure Statement and Terms & Conditions or the Multi-currency Cash Passport Product Disclosure Statement and Terms & Conditions and the Online Ordering Terms and Conditions for the applicable terms and conditions. 

Use of the Service for reloads of Travelex Prepaid Cards

The Service is only available to individuals aged 18 years or over and who are resident in and accessing the Service from New Zealand. The Service may be used to reload Travelex Prepaid Cards for holiday or business travel only and not for speculative, investment or any other purposes.

By reloading a Travelex Prepaid Card with Travelex via the Service, you confirm that you have read and understood these terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Travelex reserves the right to refuse the Service to any person found to be acting outside these terms and conditions or for any reason. Travelex will not be liable for any cost, loss or damage incurred by you if we refuse to provide the Service to you.

The Service is only available for the currencies listed and available from time to time on the ordering pages at www.travelex.co.nz  (“the Website”). The Service does not allow you to load or reload New Zealand Dollars onto a Travelex PrepaidCard. 

All online reloads of Travelex Prepaid Cards are subject to:

(1)    A minimum order value of NZD100 (or foreign currency equivalent) per currency;

(2)    A minimum order value of NZD100 (or foreign currency equivalent) per order;

(3)    An aggregate order maximum value (within a 24 hour period) of NZD5,000 (or foreign currency equivalent); and

(4)    An aggregate order maximum value within a 21 day period of NZD20,000 (or foreign currency equivalent).

These limits are subject to change from time to time at Travelex’s sole discretion.

These limits apply to an online reload of a Travelex Prepaid Card via the Service only and may be different to the limits imposed when reloading Travelex Prepaid Cards in store.

To reload a Travelex Prepaid Card

To reload your Travelex Prepaid Card, follow the instructions on the ordering pages of the Website.

The exchange rate applicable to your transaction is the rate set out in your confirmation email.

You must provide the requested information including acceptable identification for us to process your order. We reserve the right to request further information from you at any time to enable us to complete your order and / or to comply with regulatory requirements. We will use various procedures to authenticate each transaction. By placing an order, you confirm that the details contained in the order are correct in all respects. The system will display a confirmation page setting out the details of your order. This confirms receipt of your order.

You will be required to pay for your Travelex Prepaid Card reload at the time of making your online order.

Please print a copy of the confirmation page and the payment confirmation email for your records.

A contract between you and us is only formed when we receive your payment and send you a confirmation email that your order and payment have been accepted. 

We may at any time, decline to process your order or any part of your order for any reason including where insufficient or incorrect information has been provided, authentication has not been possible or an exchange rate has been quoted in error. We may, at our sole discretion, accept or reject any order we receive.

You cannot change any order you place with us.

Payment and Reload

You can pay for reloads of Travelex Prepaid Cards via New Zealand issued Visa or MasterCard credit or debit or Bill Payment, which are registered in your name and with sufficient funds available to cover your order and any applicable fees. 

Once we have reloaded your card, we will send an email to your nominated email address to confirm that your reload has been processed. 

Payment via Credit/Debit Card

For orders paid for by credit card or debit card, your card will be debited with the relevant amount once when you submit your order.

We will load your nominated Travelex Prepaid Card with the relevant funds once we have received your payment.

Payment via Bill Payment

If you choose Bill Payment as your payment method, you must make payment within 12 hours of the placement of your order.  If you do not pay within this timeframe, we will cancel your order.

We will load your nominated Travelex Prepaid Card with the relevant funds 24 hours after your Bill Payment payment is made.

Fees and Charges

Total Amount: The total sum payable by you for your order will be shown on the final order summary page.

Commission: If you use the Service via this Website to reload Travelex Prepaid Card, you will not be charged a commission.

Credit Card or Debit Card fees: If you wish to pay by MasterCard or Visa credit or debit card, we will charge a non-refundable card surcharge of 1.8% of the total order value. This will be shown within your order summary on the “Pay” page on selection of the payment option. If you choose to pay by credit or debit card, your card issuer may charge a cash advance fee which will be shown separately on your credit card statement. We have no control over and are not liable for such fees.

Card issuer/Bank Fees: If you choose to pay by debit or credit card, your card issuer/bank may charge you an additional cash advance fee. We have no control over and are not liable for such fees.

Variation: We reserve the right to change any fee or commission set out in these terms and conditions or add a new fee or commission at any time.

Travelex Prepaid Card Fees: Travelex Prepaid Cards are subject to various fees, charges and exchange rates and these are set out in detail in the relevant Product Disclosure Statement for that  specific card available at www.travelex.co.nz. Where there is a variation between the fees set out in these terms and conditions and the fees and charges applicable in the relevant Product Disclosure Statement or Terms and Conditions, these Terms will apply to the extent of any inconsistency in regard to the reload of a Travelex Prepaid Card.

Travelex Prepaid Card Product Disclosure Statements

By submitting this order you acknowledge that at the time of Travelex Prepaid Card purchase you received the relevant Product Disclosure Statement and Terms & Conditions and you have read, agreed to and are bound by the relevant terms and conditions as set out in the relevant Product Disclosure Statement and Terms & Conditions.

Where there is any inconsistency between these online Travelex Prepaid Card Reload Terms and Conditions and the terms of the relevant Product Disclosure Statement, these online Travelex Prepaid Card Reload Terms and Conditions shall prevail to the extent of any inconsistency in regard to the reload of a Travelex Prepaid Card via the Service.

Your right to Cancel or Amend

Once you have confirmed your payment you cannot cancel your reload of a Travelex Prepaid Card.

Personal Information and Security

We use secure server software to make our Internet transactions secure. You should review our Privacy Policy to find out how we may use and disclose your personal information.

You agree that all information provided by you is true and correct, that any material information will not be withheld and you will provide us with any additional information that may be required by us. Travelex may require additional information from you in order to comply with regulatory requirements.

All credit and debit card holders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to authorise payment your order will not be accepted.

Limiting our Liability

We use reasonable care and skill in providing the Service. However, we shall not be liable to you for the following:

  • if we are unable to perform any of our obligations to you due to failure of any technical systems or for any other reasons beyond our reasonable control including but not limited to war, terrorism, government action, natural disaster, and industrial dispute;
  • for any damage to your computer equipment as a result of using the Website or the Service;
  • for any monetary limits, currency exchange restrictions, country restrictions or any other restrictions or limits outside of Travelex’s reasonable control (including but not limited to any prohibitions on bringing currencies into a country);
  • for any indirect, or consequential losses, claims or damages suffered by you or incurred from your use of the Website or the Service however caused.

Our maximum liability to you in respect of each use of Service for the reload of a Travelex Prepaid Card shall be to refund the cost of that reload. The disclaimers and limitations of liability in these terms shall not apply to any damages arising from death or personal injury caused by the negligence of Travelex or any of its employees or agents or for fraud. If any provisions of these terms including these disclaimers and limitations shall be unlawful or unenforceable then such provisions shall fall away and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining terms. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Sanctions

Under New Zealand laws we are prohibited from dealing with sanctioned individuals or entities. If it appears that you are a sanctioned person, or are acting on behalf of a sanctioned person or entity, we may be required to suspend or stop providing the Service to you. We may also be required to freeze any transactions with you and freeze any assets of yours which we hold. These processes may cause a substantial delay in providing the Service to you or may prevent us from providing the Service to you.

Alteration of Terms

We may, at any time, with immediate effect, in respect of future orders, change or withdraw the Website, the Service and these terms without liability to you. If we revise these terms, we will post the revised version on our Website at www.travelex.co.nz . By using the Service or placing orders or reloading your Travelex Prepaid Card after we have changed these terms, you will be accepting the changes.

 

 

Third Party Rights

When you place an order to reload a Travelex prepaid Card we are entering a contract with you personally. Nothing in these terms will confer any benefit on any third party or any right to enforce these terms. 

Law and Jurisdiction

Our relationship shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws in New Zealand. Any dispute, which cannot be resolved between us, shall be resolved in the courts of New Zealand.

You must comply with all laws and regulations binding on you, including complying with all obligations under, and not breaching, the anti-money laundering legislation or any other applicable laws.
